Our Team
We’re a team of developers, researchers, and communicators who understand how much accessibility matters because we’ve needed it ourselves. Across our team, we’ve experienced barriers to learning, struggled to get support, and found ways to succeed in environments that weren’t designed for us. We combine those experiences with software development and machine learning expertise, working alongside educators and learners to build the tools we wish we’d had.

Our Dream
We want accessibility to be a baseline part of learning. Students shouldn’t have to repeatedly explain their struggles, fight for every adjustment, or fall behind while waiting for support.
With live transcription, important-moment highlighting, translation, and comfortable ways to ask questions, we’re building Transcribbit to give every learner more ways to understand and participate. Our dream is for classrooms, and eventually any space where one person speaks to many, to welcome different ways of learning from the start.

Our Story
Transcribbit grew out of our founder’s experiences with muscular dystrophy and ADHD. He often knew the answer in class but struggled to raise his hand. College took him six years, requiring persistence while navigating both his coursework and barriers to participation. When classes moved online during COVID, a more accessible learning environment helped him get back on the Dean’s List. His ability hadn’t suddenly changed. Having more flexibility in how he accessed information made it easier to demonstrate what he could do. That experience resonated across our team. We each have our own stories of struggling to get the support we needed and discovering how much the right environment could help. Those shared experiences brought us together around a goal: bring that flexibility into everyday learning, so more people have the opportunity to succeed.
